It’s great to have flowers delivered to you, but have you ever wanted to learn how to make beautiful arrangements yourself? If so, you’re in luck. There are many great flower arrangement workshops in the Omaha area. Here are some of our recommendations to learn the art of floral design!
Loess Hills Floral
If you want to learn how to create your own boutonnieres, corsages, and centerpieces for your big day, look to Rhonda Bullington at Loess Hills Floral. Rhonda teaches classes out of her space in nearby Council Bluffs where you can learn all of the tricks of the trade to create your own beautiful floral pieces.
Rhonda also offers a repurposing class, where you can bring in an old silk (permitted botanical) and repurpose your floral arrangements into a new piece to use - such as a new table arrangement for the holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc.) At Loess Hills Floral, you’ll walk away from these classes with unique new arrangements that are all your own.
Lauritzen Gardens
At the Lauritzen Gardens you can learn how to make beautiful floral designs to display at home or give as a gift. Each workshop has its own unique theme, which allows you to enjoy a new experience each time that you participate. No experience is needed, and there are classes every Saturday. Upcoming themes include: “A Tabletop of Holiday Cheer”, “Wondrous Winter Landscape”, and “Frosty Flora and Fauna” for the winter months. Check out the full class schedule here.
Mulhall’s
Mulhall’s Floral Designer, Sherri Lee, shares her talent for design as she helps you dress up a fresh wreath made with a mixture of fragrant evergreen boughs. Using artificial berries, festive ribbon, and other decor, you can create a beautiful accent for your own door or to give as a personal handmade gift. And, if you’ve ever wondered how designers make those perfect ribbon bows, Sherri will teach you how. Details for the workshop are here on their website, or keep checking back for other floral design events.
